Our recent sermons from Ecclesiastes have been asking us to evaluate, among other things, our own busyness. Why do I do what I do? What exactly am I hoping to accomplish? Is this my agenda or God’s? What are those things which are truly my callings from God? Are these activities merely the efforts of the striving self? Am I acting in His strength or just my own?
A favorite author of mine, Kevin DeYoung, has a post up about busyness and priorities. Here’s the money quote:
The inability to establish priorities is madness, which is why busyness feels so crazy.
